Bristol College of Massage & Bodywork (BCMB)
On Wednesdays you’ll find me on my regular slot at BCMB, 109 Pembroke Road, BS8 3EU.
When you arrive at the venue, the entrance is on Guthrie Road. Through the entrance, please follow the gravel footpath to the right of the main entrance. Stairs lead down the side of the building, to the entrance of the college.
By Bus – The number 8 and 9 Firstbus bus services run from the city centre through Clifton with a bus stop right outside the building on Pembroke Road. From North Bristol, the number 505 Wessex service runs from Southmead Hospital through Horfield and Henleaze, and stops at Bristol Zoo which is a 5 min walk away.
By Train – Clifton train station is a 10 minute walk away. You will find the Temple Meads to Avonmouth route with regular services throughout the day.
By Bicycle – There are railings on site for you to securely lock your bike to.
By Car – Pembroke Road is easily accessible from the city centre and the A4 Portway. Alternatively, the Long Ashton Park and Ride offers cheap parking and has a bus stop at the top of Pembroke Road.
The Arches Therapy Rooms
On Thursdays and Fridays you’ll find me at The Arches Therapy Rooms, 198 Cheltenham Road, BS6 5QZ .
By Bus – The number 70, 71, 73, 75 and 76 both north and southbound will drop you off just outside.
By Train – Montpelier train station is a 5 minute walk, down Station Road turn left. You will find the Temple Meads to Avonmouth route with regular services throughout the day.
By Bicycle – There are railings close by for you to securely lock your bike to.
Bristol City Yoga (BCY)
On Thursdays and Fridays you’ll find me at Bristol City Yoga, 16 Backfields Lane, BS2 8QW.
By Bus – A wide selection of services, BCY is only a few minutes away from St James Barton Roundabout and the Bus Station.
By Train – Montpelier train station is a 10 minute walk, down Station Road turn left. You will find the Temple Meads to Avonmouth route with regular services throughout the day. Temple Meads station is only 15 minute walk away.
By Bicycle – There are railings outside for you to securely lock your bike to.

I have concessionary rates to accommodate peoples financial circumstances, available to those who need it such as unemployed and those on low incomes. Events and Onsite Massage please note that the costs are based on the number of clients, the frequency of visits, your location, and the length of time spent per treatment.

You can pay at the beginning or at the end of each session unless you have already paid in advance.

When you book an appointment you are reserving my time exclusively for your treatment. If you cannot keep your appointment, please let me know with as much notice as possible so that I can fill the space.
Failure to attend an appointment with less than 48 hours notice of cancellation will incur the charge of 50% of the cost of the full appointment.
Failure to attend an appointment with less than 24 hours notice of cancellation will incur the charge for the full appointment.
For On site & Event Massage the cancellation notice is 72 hours.

Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork (BCMB)
Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork has a car park, accessible from Guthrie Road, with 3 dedicated parking spaces which are clearly marked for BCMB.
The roads surrounding the college are restricted to permit holders or pay & display. If the car park is full then you can come into the college to collect one of their 3 permits (if available) or pay at a meter which costs £1 per hour for a maximum stay 5 hours.
The Arches Therapy Rooms
You can park on the main road, Cheltenham Road, on any of the single yellow lines between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm and from 6:30 pm onwards and pay using the meter on the pavement. It is not advisable to park outside of these times as the council will remove the vehicle to free the bus lanes. There are also parking available on Station Road at the same price.
Bristol City Yoga (BCY)
There is metered parking on Upper York Street and Wilder Street with a 2 hour maximum stay, charges apply Monday – Sunday 8:00 am – Midnight (cheaper after 18:00 pm). Please do not park in the spaces along Backfields Lane as unauthorised vehicles are often fined.
Outside the hours of 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday you are free to park in St. Pauls permit holders parking without having to display a permit.
Alternatively the nearest car park to BCY that has no limit on the time you can stay is St James Barton, approximately 5 minutes walk from the studio.
You also can also park at The Galleries car park.
All information you tell me is strictly confidential, solely used for the purpose of customizing your treatment.
The number of treatments needed will vary as everyone is different.
After a session there is a short period of adjustment as part of the healing process. Sometimes clients notice improvement after only one or two sessions and some need support for longer to get back to a place where they are feeling well. Many return when they experience challenges or pain resurface while others come back periodically to help maintain health and well-being.
On your first visit depending on your aims and treatment reasons together we can agree a treatment plan.
In some cases weekly massage may be needed for a while. Once your body starts to heal, regular monthly treatments will help prevent painful areas flaring up again.
I will ask you to undress just as far as you feel comfortable and will leave you in privacy to do so. You can choose to undress fully, or keep your underwear, or more clothing, on. The choice is yours.
Once on the massage couch you will be covered with a cotton sheet throughout the treatment, and I will only uncover the part of you that I am about to work on at that time, making sure that you are comfortable.
We can work with oil on skin or through clothes or sheet, as necessary. Seated massage is also an option if you are more comfortable that way. Let the treatment begin!
Treatment is not advisable under some medical conditions. If in doubt, please consult your GP or call me before your session to discuss any existing medical conditions.
If you are pregnant or are undergoing medical treatment, please mention this at the time of booking.
Some ways in which massage might help amongst many others:

- Relieve muscular tightness, stiffness, spasms and restrictions in muscle tissue
- Restore balance and the natural healing processes of our bodies strengthening the immune system
- Improve circulation of blood bringing more oxygen and nutrients into the muscle helping reduce fatigue
- Improve nervous function
- Help to increase joint mobility, free adhesions, breaks down scar tissue and decreases inflammation
- Relieve physical discomfort such as sciatic, tension headaches, bad digestions or constipation
- Improve your sleep and energy levels
- Maintain your physical and emotional wellbeing
- Promote body awareness, create a feeling of well-being and enhance self-esteem
- Ease emotional trauma through relaxation
- Decrease the heart rate due to relaxation
- Temporarily decrease blood pressure
- Deepen breathing and improve lung capacity by relaxing any tightness in the respiratory muscles
- Improve digestion and increase movement in the large intestine which helps to relieve constipation
- Reduce levels of the stress hormone Cortisol that can cause insomnia, lowered immunity, high blood pressure, heart disease, depression, weak bones and muscles
- Reduce stress and anxiety by relaxing both mind and body munity, high blood pressure, heart disease, depression, weak bones and muscles
