Safety First — Your Wellbeing Matters
Shesensu is designed to support movement, connection, and overall wellbeing. To ensure every participant is safe and comfortable, some health conditions require caution, and others mean the class is not suitable at this time.
If you are unsure whether Shesensu is appropriate for you, please speak with your GP or healthcare provider before joining.
This information is for general guidance only and is not a substitute for medical advice. You should never experience pain during the class. If anything feels uncomfortable, please stop immediately.
When Shesensu Is Not Suitable
For your safety, please do not take part in a Shesensu class if you have any of the following:
- Pregnancy
- Dementia
- Alzheimer’s
- Infectious disease
- Glaucoma
- Psychiatric disorders
- Open wounds
- Active nosebleeds
- Extreme morbid obesity
- Extreme underweight or anorexia
- Broken bones
- Diseases of the bones or joints
- Feeling sick or dizzy
- Recent surgery without explicit medical permission
Short‑Term Illness
Please do not attend if you have any symptoms of illness, including:
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhoea
- Fever, chills, or flu‑like symptoms
- A cold, cough, or sore throat
- Any condition that may be infectious
Please wait until you are fully recovered before returning to class. If you arrive feeling unwell, you may be asked to re‑book for another time.
Conditions That Require Medical Clearance
Some people may be able to join a class if they are stable, in recovery, or managing their condition well — but only with approval from a doctor.
Please check with your GP or healthcare provider first if you have:
- High Blood Pressure
- Cancer
- Stroke
- Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes
- Cardiovascular disease
- Multiple sclerosis
- Parkinson’s
- Motor neurone disease
- Postnatal recovery (typically 12 weeks after a caesarean, 6 weeks after a vaginal birth, with medical clearance)
- Hypermobility, if it causes pain, instability, or frequent injuries.
- Any medication that affects balance, coordination, or blood pressure
